Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
This policy sets out what you may and may not do with PilotLab products and services. It protects the people who receive your messages and calls, our other customers and the reliability of our platforms.
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses PilotLab products and services, including your authorized users and anyone who uses the Services through your account. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions. You are responsible for making sure your users follow it.
2. Illegal, Harmful or Deceptive Use
You may not use the Services to:
- Break any law or regulation, or help anyone else do so.
- Commit fraud, phishing or identity theft, or impersonate any person or organization.
- Send or store content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful or that exploits minors.
- Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy or other rights.
- Collect personal information without the notice and consent the law requires.
- Process payment card data or protected health information through a product that is not designed or contracted for it.
3. Email Rules
These apply to email products such as Pigeonify and to email verification with PilotVerify:
- Send email only to people who have agreed to receive it, or where the law otherwise allows it.
- Do not use purchased, rented or scraped email lists.
- Include a working unsubscribe link in marketing email and honor opt-outs promptly, as CAN-SPAM requires.
- Use accurate sender names, "From" addresses and subject lines.
- Do not use email verification to harvest addresses or to probe mail servers for abuse.
4. Calling and Text Message Rules
These apply to calling and messaging products such as Bridgeside AI and VM Hunter, and to phone data from PilotLookup:
- Get the consent required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and state laws before placing automated or AI-voiced calls or sending texts.
- Scrub against the National Do Not Call Registry and your internal do-not-call list, and honor do-not-call requests promptly.
- Call only within permitted calling hours for the recipient's time zone.
- Tell callers when they are speaking with an AI or automated system where the law requires it, and when calls are recorded, with the consent required in two-party consent states.
- Register business texting campaigns (for example 10DLC) and follow carrier rules.
- Do not spoof caller ID or transmit misleading caller ID information.
- Do not use phone lookup data to decide eligibility for credit, employment, insurance or housing.
5. AI Features
- Do not use AI features to create deceptive content, impersonate real people without permission, or generate unlawful material.
- Review AI-generated content before publishing it or relying on it.
- Follow the usage policies of the AI providers you connect (for example Anthropic or OpenAI).
6. Security and Platform Integrity
You may not:
- Access accounts, systems or data without authorization.
- Scan, probe or test the security of the Services without our written permission.
- Upload malware or interfere with the Services, other customers or networks.
- Overload the Services, bypass rate limits or usage quotas, or share accounts to avoid fees.
- Use PilotBin or other tools to capture data you are not authorized to receive.
- Copy, scrape or reverse engineer the Services except where the law allows.
If you discover a security vulnerability, report it to support@pilotlab.net and give us reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it.
7. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations. Depending on the seriousness, we may remove content, limit sending or calling, suspend or terminate accounts, and report illegal activity to the authorities. Where possible we will contact you first, but we may act immediately to protect people, our Services or our network reputation. Fees are not refunded for suspensions caused by violations.
8. Reporting Abuse
To report spam, unwanted calls or texts, or other abuse involving our Services, email support@pilotlab.net with as much detail as you can, such as message headers, phone numbers, dates and times.
